V/A - An Evening In Nivram - A Tribute To The Shadows CD (MuSick) 

It’s here - the long awaited reissue of the MuSick Recordings tribute to The Shadows! The original release was back in 1997 and featured 16 North American bands covering the classics of the Shadows. It really served as an introduction to the songs of the Shadows, as many newly minted surf fans in the early-to-mid 90’s either hadn’t heard of the Shadows, or if they did, it was really hard to get their original recordings. What better introduction than to have some of the top bands of the day cover their songs - the original disc had The Space Cossacks, The Huntington Cads, The Boss Martians, The Tiki Tones, The Fathoms, Satan’s Pilgrims and Davie Allan & The Arrows. Well, like many classic discs of the day it eventually sold out, and was never made available for digital streaming or download. Thankfully MuSick has recognized the demand out there and has done a deluxe reissue, taking most of the songs from the original release, adding 13 brand new songs, tweaked the cover art, and added an lengthy essay from Ivan Pongracic, resulting in a 23 song release that is going to be a must purchase for all of you out there this year.
