The Razorblades - Snapshots From The Underground CD (General Schallplatten)
This is perhaps the wildest ride yet for The Razorblades, a German surf/instro/punk group led by guitarist Martin Schmidt (aka Rob Razorblade). The songs on this disc move along at a blistering pace, fueled by the vibe of the California surf and hot rod scenes, mixed with the raw, intense energy of bands like Motorhead. While they are predominantly a instro rock band, they do add a couple of tunes with vocals into the mix (although the singing doesn’t go throughout the songs, so they should still appeal to instro fans). There are a few slower, twangier - “Going To Italy...In A Minute”, “Blood On Your Suit”, and “What’s Up, Scooter Girl?”. If you have enjoyed The Razorblades in the past, or fast, powerful surf punk, this is highly recommended.
