Secret Agent - Going (Instro) Mental CD (Triple Agent)

This trio led by guitarist Rick Jeschke Deliz was based in Mexico, but they’ve recently moved to the US, finding a new home in Chicago, IL. This is their first physical release since the move - a powerful 8 song disc that contains instrumental versions of seven songs that were previously released as vocal songs, plus a bonus track - a live cover of Black Sabbath’s “Rat Salad” recorded May 2024. Secret Agent really has a sound unique in the surf/instro realm - it’s in large part down to the powerful lead guitar work, which works to give each song a unique flavor. The bass and drums propel the songs forward in a melodic and rhythmic fashion. They add interesting instruments and synth sounds to give everything a more cinematic feel. A couple of the songs back off from the guitars a bit to add variety and mood - this is especially evident with “Disguise” and “Love In A Post War”. Like all other Secret Agent releases, the cover art was done by Stoner Graphics and is a visually striking representation of the music contained on the disc.
