Satan’s Pilgrims - Frankenstomp CD (SP Records)

What a way to fill in the gaps of what has been an amazing career in the surf rock biz (not to say they’re done yet - they’re still playing live, and who knows, maybe we’ll see another studio album someday). Their albums get lots of play in the homes and cars of surf aficionados all over the world, and most would even have a few of their 7”s or compilations they’ve appeared on. But only the most die-hard would have every single non-LP tune in their collection, and even fewer would also have their very first cassette release done for Cavity Search Records back in 1993. This compilation gathers everything up quite nicely in one package. But wait, there are unreleased tunes as well - stuff that no one’s heard until now! So overall you get 27 tunes, wrapped up in a nice deluxe digipak, filled with detailed liner notes and unseen photos. Artist extraordinaire, and friend of us here at Double Crown, Mike Guerrero, did a bang-up job on the cover - taking a page out of the Art Chantry handbook and coming up with a stunning graphic of the classic Franksenstein monster and fonts that fit this release perfectly.
