Martin Cilia - Here Comes The Sun CD (Surfersaurus)
Famed Australian guitarist, with years of experience in The Atlantics, Mental As Anything and The Radiators, is probably best known amongst instrumental rock and surf fans for his solo work. This album is now his 12th release as a solo artist, and is his tribute to The Beatles, with 13 classic songs delivered in a variety of instrumental styles. It also includes an original song, “Abbey Road”, that displays the influence The Beatles have had on him. It has a sound somewhat similar to the more melodic tunes the Beatles recorded during their final sessions, but with that unmistakable Martin Cilia guitar playing the lead melody over the top. The songs he’s chosen to include on this disc are from throughout the Beatles career - the earliest is “All My Loving” and the latest is “Let It Be”.
